While others are vacationing with family, lazing by the pool, and reading for leisure I have been polishing my Moodle. I began following Moodle on Twitter, went in to see my fellow Moodle Angel to learn about the newest updates and then set out to make my Moodle page bigger and better. Why you ask, does she not have a life, is she anti social? The answer is no, but Moodle organizes my teaching day, it is Moodle that keeps me sane and no matter what I learn from other LMS, Moodle is my best work, friend. As I sit in my garden working on how to make my Moodle more organized, more friendly for my students, but at the same time removing as many excuses as teenagers can come up with. I added gifs to the quiz feedback, switched from weeks to topics, and try to anticipate parent questions.
Moodle allows me to have a paperless classroom, quizzes are always at the ready, and there is never the familiar refrain' "She lost my paper". All of this is removed by my relationship with Moodle. No pares to drag home and back, no missing Scantrons, and accessible on our favorite device- the phone.
So read, swim, garden, and vacation; but come August my Moodle will be ready and I will not miss a beat as I break in a new group of Freshman.
