After two months of experimenting with my Moodle formatting I have decided to forgo the current topic as my placeholder. I have moved back to just topics and accepting the scroll of death. I am pairing my chapter with the topic to help my students find their information. The addition of the check list has helped a great deal as each activity listed is also hyper linked through the check list. So easy, but only if the student actually opens the check list.
Now this brings me to this month's musing, how do you connect Moodle to the religion classroom. Well after reflecting for about three minutes it came to me. Just as Sacred Scripture, the Word of God, is only useful if you actually utilize it in through prayer, reading, and reflection; Moodle too is only as helpful to extent to which you use it. If a student never opens Moodle, does not read the information provided they too will end up in another type of Eternity, those dammed to the land of Summer School for credit recovery.
Just as Jesus used Parables and the Prophets warned of staying in right relationship with God, I too admonish my students in order to protect them from final damnation. I work tirelessly to organize moodle so that it is easy to read and follow. Hopefully this second attempt at reorganization will help each student be successful, but first they have to open it and read it. I need an app for that!
